T.I.P.S.

  • Lightbulb Students must be able to analyze relationships to find the missing number (the product if both factors are given or one factor when the other factor and product are given) when an equation involving the three related numbers is given. Essentially, they are applying their knowledge of basic multiplication facts.

Example

  • What number would make the following equations true? Use a pictorial model or number to show your thinking.
     
    7 x ? = 63
    ? x 7 = 63
