In Fifth Grade

  • Fifth grade students defined income tax, payroll tax, sales, tax, and property tax, explained the differences between gross and net incomes, described how to balance a budget, identified different methods of payments, and a developed a system for keeping and using financial records.

In Sixth Grade

  • Sixth grade students will compare the differences between a checking account, a debit card, and a credit card, describe the purpose of and information found on a credit report, explain various pays to pay for college, compare annual salaries of several occupations requiring different levels of education, and the importance of establishing a positive credit history.

In Seventh Grade

  • Seventh grade students will calculate sales and income taxes, identify components of a personal budget, create and organize financial assets and liabilities, use a family budget estimator, calculate and compare simple and compound interest earnings, and analyze and compare monetary incentives such as coupons and rebates.
